What is the process by which it can be predicted that the person is suffering from mental harassment and what is the reason behind it? How can the process be built to examine the mental health of the population? How can quality life be achieved? Significance and outcome of the proposed research The significance of the research is to look after the enhancement and growth of the population. The proper treatment can help people to get out of stress and regulate a regular life. Though social and economic growth will also enhance the environment. With the help of population research, laboratory research and clinical research, it will come to a solution (Kale and Carroll, 2016). The outcome of the research will be beneficial for the population who are not getting a quality life. Literature review Factors related to mental harassment According to Wo et al., the mental health of the public had been affected in this pandemic. The researcher had studied students whose parents do not have any history of mental sickness. This pandemic situation that has been caused due to COVID-19 has hampered mental health. The long span of lockdown had affected the people. The people become depressed and anxious because of staying at home and their lifecycle has completely changed. The people have to lock them self in the home, it had been found in the study that though the people had a nice bond with their family members still they are behaving badly and becoming anxious in small matters. Due to the spread of the virus, many people are panicked and they are always facing a threat. The threat of COVID is giving rise to anxiety and that causing mental illness. Discrimination in the workplace causes the mental problem, in the workplace, discrimination may cause on the basis of gender, race, color, age and many perspectives. Discrimination due to several reasons is occurring in many places like in the educational sector, in a gathering, or the workplace. The continuous humiliation to a person considering any of their characters affects the mental stability of the person. This stress may cause not only mental problems but also cardiac vascular disease (Saban et al., 2018). Stress may cause many other physical diseases. Victims have to face it every day in every place, they try to fight against this with their mental strength. This regular mental fight hampers their normal life and that may cause physical illness as studied in this article. Figure 2: Rise of mental health issues in Covid 19 (Source: Mohan, 2019) The discrimination makes feel the people low and affect their normal life. Due to this reason mental health disorder is common in them. The economic condition of the people also hampered mental stability. As every person needs money for maintaining their life. The financial crisis in the people shows depression and anxiety in them. Financial stress is very common in the people as decreasing income is a threat to the people because to live a life economy plays a crucial role. Without money, it is tough for people to survive. In this pandemic situation, the global economy has hampered. The economic crisis in people's life is directly related to COVID. The people are getting afraid of becoming poor. They are badly affected by all aspects; financial problems are giving rise to the mental problem. The lesbian community is suffering from both financial and mental hazards (Ahamed et al., 2020). Though the government is trying to support them but still a vacuum arises. The fear of financial instability and COVID is affecting the mental health of the population. Instability in the financial source may make the situation tough in people's life. Procedures to check public mental health The awareness about mental health is still at a nascent stage all across the world. Although there exist several clinical screening tools check the status of mental health of an individual, it is quite difficult to check public mental health given that the knowledge about the impact of mental health on the quality of life is low. A research study conducted by Huang et al. (2019) used the cross-sectional epidemiological survey method to check the prevalence of mental disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, alcohol use, and drug use disorders, eating disorders, impulse control disorder, dementia, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders in a multistage clustered area in thirty-one provinces across China. The study was succeeded in determining the prevalence of mental health disorders among the population living in those multistage clustered areas of China. The benefits of the cross-sectional epidemiological survey method includes-the method are cost-effective, the findings and analyses drawn from this method can contribute to new theories, includes multiple variables at the time of data snapshot, and others. The disadvantages of this method includes-not effective in analyzing behavior over a period of time cannot determine the causes and effects of mental health disorders. A Research conducted by Altwaijri et al. (2020) used the World Health Organisation Composite international diagnostic interview (CIDI) to estimate the prevalence of common DSM-IV mental health disorders among the population of the different multistage clustered area in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The diagnoses of the disorders were made based on the WHO Composite International Diagnostic Interview Version 3.0. The study successfully diagnosed the people with DSM-IV disorders and found out the percentage of the population living with DSM-IV disorders. The advantages of using The World Health Organisation World Mental Health Composite International Diagnostic Interview (WHO WMH-CIDI) includes-accurately measure the prevalence of mental disorders, can measure the severity of these mental health disorders, can determine the burden of these mental health disorders, can assess the barriers of treatment and others. These works of literature indicate that both cross-sectional epidemiological surveys and The World Health Organisation Composite International Diagnostic Interview (WHO WMH-CIDI) can effectively indicate the prevalence of mental health disorders among the people. Necessary treatments to achieve better life The research conducted by Griffiths et al., 2019 reveals the negative impact of poor mental health on personality and the quality of life of an individual. Poor mental health affects the productivity of an individual. It can result in an individual displaying violent and socially unacceptable behaviors. Mental health problems can alienate an individual from society and suicidal thoughts also result from poor mental health. Mental health problems contribute to negative life experiences in an individual. The study to find out about the impact of mental health on quality of life used the participatory framework model to identify the impact of poor mental health problems on individuals. The results concluded that poor mental health can develop critical personality and physical disorders such as Autism, Dementia, Depression, and others. Diseases like depression can make an individual feel suicidal. The research concludes that mental health must be taken care of. The research by Griffiths et al. (2019) recommends seeking medical care if an individual suffers from mental health related problems as the delay in seeking care may worsen the situation in an individual. The research proposal has mentioned earlier that awareness about mental health-related diseases is low among the world population. The research conducted by Crowe and Kim,2020 reveals that numerous factors influence the decision of individuals while seeking clinical mental health care for health-related problems. One of the identified factors in the study is the stigma associated with mental problems that prevent individuals to seek mental health care. The research study stipulates that both personal stigma and public stigma can result in a reluctance of an individual in seeking mental health care. Another factor identified is less familiarity with mental health illnesses. The research mentions the finding that many people are not aware of the relation between mental health and physical health and the impact of mental health on everyday life. The research study also mentions how mental concerns such as discrimination, stereotyping, and fear of judgment stop an individual from seeking mental health care. The research study also mentions in the concluding part that mental health-related problems like stress are not given much attention. The study also mentions how accumulated stress is not considered as a diagnosable concern but how untreated stress can lead to various ailments. The research concludes with the mention of the necessity of treatments in mental health related problems. Research conducted by Bartlett and Hollins(2018) on the women prisoner of a prison in the United Kingdom revealed that severe mental health-related diseases can result in criminal behavior in individuals. The study concluded that therapeutic techniques and treatment can lessen criminal behavior among individuals convicted of committing crimes. The study concluded that proper mental health treatment has the capability to bring an individual convicted of a crime to mainstream life in certain cases. Proposed Research Method Research philosophy The researcher will select the positivism in research philosophy which helps the researcher to think about the steps needed to be included in the research. Though positivism includes all the independence to the researcher but the convictions which will be approached, argues with the hypothesis and the background knowledge (Al-Ababneh, 2020). In such situations, the researcher will get help to proceed with the research authentically. However, one of the shortcomings identified that if there is lack of valid source of knowledge then it will be difficult to draw inferences. Research design The researcher will select exploratory research, which will help the researcher to find out the key findings and the process by which the researcher will conclude the study. In this type of research, the researcher will be able to specify the aims and objectives in a clear format (Al-Ababneh, 2020). This research design might not establish a casual research relationship between research variables. Research approach The researcher will select a deductive approach to get the research. The deductive approach will help the researcher to get the existing history of the problems. Related to all those contradictions, the researcher will research the topics and could form an inference. This approach is having a quantitative measure, it also includes the variables and concepts. Nevertheless, the researcher may face a shortcoming related to using divergent thinking while using the deductive approach and can also bound the scope of creativities. Ethics The researcher while having the survey will have to follow various ethics which includes: The researcher will have to take the safety measure that the participants do not get any harm or have any emotional issues. The researcher will have to follow the perspective to maintain dignity among the participants. If the participants pay full attention to the survey and it is important for the researcher. The researcher will pay full attention to keeping the participant's details in an authorized manner. The researcher should have full confidence in the survey material. The researcher will have to look after the individuals and even for the group of people for conducting the survey (Clark-Kazak, 2017). The researchers will take several special methods to avoid deception in the objectives and aims. The researcher will declare all the sources, conflicts and funding required. The researcher will have to perform the survey with transparency and honesty. The researcher will properly maintain the information. Sampling The researcher will have to collect the samples by using simple random sampling which is the simplest and straightforward process to identify the ratio of problems caused by the population. It will help the researcher to research a wide range of people (Sun and Cyr, 2019). While applying the simple random sampling, the researcher might require to invest more time, money and effort. Apart from that, the researcher willselect200 people to conduct a survey. The feedback of the survey will help in understanding the relationship between mental health and quality of life. Data collection The researcher will select the way of collecting the data in a quantitative way by which the researcher will get various advantages and be able to get the data accurately. With the help of calculation and numbers, the researcher will get the appropriate number of findings. Quantitative research helps to solve the question of "how many" and "how often". This research often tells about the numerical data which are to be collected and exhibits the result in such a way that it calls a contradiction in between the research and theory as deductive (Moser and Korstjens, 2018). Even it helps to compare the strategies concerning science and the real facts which are being involved in the population. However, broader themes and relationships linked to the research study can be overlooked while applying the quantitative method. Data analysis The researcher will analyze the data on the quantitative approach by which the researcher will be able to get a raw figure about the survey (Moser and Korstjens, 2018). With help of quantitative analysis, the researcher will be able to get the differences and frequencies in between the variables. Resources required The researcher will require primary resources which include research articles, case studies, interviews and eyewitnesses. All these media will help the researcher to get a proper survey. While conducting the survey, the researcher will require health related issues, health professionals, survey forms and the assessment forms. Difference between the pilot study and the main study The pilot research is the researcher's first step to get the survey of any research in a wide range of the population. The main study is the narrow form from where the researcher selects some individual identities and makes the conclusion based on their research. The main study creates the validity of the research that has been done (Ismail, Kinchin and Edwards, 2018).For conducting the pilot study, small sample group such as 5-10 persons will be included for assessing the viability and feasibility of the research techniques. The result will help in knowing whether the selected data collection methods are appropriate to conduct research on a wider scale for the main study. Reflection of the pilot tool The pilot tool is being used to get a wide range of surveys so the researcher will be unable to get the total authentication of the survey will be done by the researcher. So, the researcher will have to move on for the main study selecting 5 to 10 persons to get the proper analyses of the research. Recruitment The researcher will have to make recruitment candidates who will help them to take the survey. The researcher will have to include candidates from various health departments who will form a valuation in the survey. Rigour The researcher will have to focus on the criteria of rigour which includes transferability, creditability, confirmability and creditability. So, the researcher will have to follow such measures while taking the survey. Strength and limitation of research tool According to the survey, the researcher will come to understand the impacts the people are having in their quality of life and will understand that by which factors they are getting affected. But sometimes the population casually takes these surveys, there cause a limitation for the researcher. Principles of research methods The principles of qualitative research are based on intuitivism, constructivism and interpretivism. Quantitative research distinguishes between hypothesis and theory. The basic principle of mixed research is it forms a mixing in the logic of quantitative and qualitative research. Proposed Analyses The proposed analysis is appropriate because the quantitative analysis will help the researcher to get the raw data from the survey. The analysis will help in identifying the differences in the variables and the change in the frequency variable, thereby, the researcher will be able to understand the extent to which the mental health impact the quality of life of people. As the researcher is going to attend a questionnaire, thus the quantitative approach is the best approach to be done (Moser and Korstjens, 2018). Based on the primary data collection, the quantitative approach is the best approach the researcher will take. Timeline The researcher will take two months for the total period of completion. The analysis will take two weeks to make the survey which will help the researcher to understand the factors that are affecting mental health. Then the researcher will take four weeks to look after the ways for examining the solution. For the further two weeks, the researcher will take to implement the treatment in between the population to survive a quality life.
