The memo should be written in a sufficient level of detail to demonstrate how you identified the relevant accounting questions/issues to address, the guidance you considered, and the conclusions reached. It’s typically written in a narrative format and doesn’t necessarily need to be 3 pages as long as you feel you’ve addressed the issues adequately. Supporting calculations can be included in exhibits if necessary.
