Your final project for the course is divided into two parts. In Part I, you will develop a transitions paper in which you reflect on the personal factors that have motivated you to pursue a graduate education. In your paper, you will articulate your professional philosophy and beliefs about the nursing profession, as well as your rationale behind choosing your specialty area of focus and educational and professional goals. You will also be required to provide a list of references based in both nursing theory and nursing science that you used to support the ideas in your paper.
You will develop your transitions paper throughout the term in the form of three milestones:
Milestone One: Introduction and Personal Philosophy Draft (due at the end of Module Three)
Milestone Two: Specialty Focus and Career Goals Draft (due at the end of Module Five)
Milestone Three: Conclusion and References Draft (due at the end of Module Seven)
You will integrate feedback on each milestone into a final draft of the completed transitions paper to be submitted at the end of Module Nine.
In Final Project Part II, you will initiate your electronic portfolio (ePortfolio). Using the approved SNHU Nursing E-Portfolio Template, after you have completed your transitions paper, you will populate your personal ePortfolio with a welcome page, your philosophy of nursing, and career goals. Part II of the project will be completed by the end of Module Ten.
Take some time this week to review the following documents:
Post any questions about the final project in the General Questions discussion.
Be sure to save your work from this course to your ePortfolio within 60 days after the term ends, as you will no longer have access to this course beyond this point. This is a good time for you to save your work to your own personal storage device as well.
